JUNE 2010
First off, I want to say congratulations to all of those amazing graduating
Seniors we have here at South Union. Enjoy the summer that is ahead of you and
start to get your minds wrapped around the fact that high school is done
forever! To those who are not graduating this year, you have got another year
under your belts. To both, keep up the work that you are doing and have
perseverance as you run the race set before you (Hebrews 12:1-3). Even with
having completed this part of a race, there is still much more ahead before the
finish line is crossed. Secondly, with the summer finally here, everyone needs
to take some time just to breathe and get refreshed. No more school or homework
to worry about for a couple weeks. With that in mind, I want to challenge you to
spend a part of that free time being in the Word and praying. Both of these are
amazing ways to help recharge your battery. And as you get filled up in this
way, it will make running the race a bit easier. When the summer hits, it is a
challenge to keep working on your relationship with God while taking a break
from everything else. So, make it a priority this summer as a must have for part
of your day, then continue on with that practice when the next school years
begins and see how much more joy and peace you can have through it all.
